I have always found Native American history and cultures fascinating. Coming from a state named after a Native American tribe, Massachusetts, going to a high school named after a Native American Chief, Masconomet, and having a bit of Native American heritage in my family I guess it was only natural to have developed a strong interest. So when I came across this giant wood carving in Maine on my recent trip home I wasn't surprised that I spent about 15 minutes just standing there starting at it and photographing it. Time well spent I'd say.
